The world has changed more in the past 20 years than in the previous 200 all due to the rapid evolution of technology, especially with the advent of the internet. Technology has been implemented across all areas of business, especially marketing & SEO. What was once a dream to be able to talk into a device and see someone else is now a daily reality. What was once a dream that you could actually send a message to someone without leaving a voice recording is now a reality. In fact, you can now send and receive messages back and forth to someone using a mobile devices, something unheard of over 20 years ago.
The boom around the internet has also taken new avenues where people can now get and send information to multiple providers who can access this information and use it to help you. For example, I created an account with one of my credit card companies and I can now use my mobile device to quickly gain information about my account including things like balance, last transaction or transactions, when my payment is due, etc. I can even make a payment to my credit card from my bank account which was saved off during the account creation process, all while sitting on the bus and using my mobile device. I can make financial transactions quickly and easily in the same manner.
On my way to a party, I did a quick search on my phone for a bouquet of flowers that can be delivered to the home prior to my arrival. This was all done with my mobile device, while sitting on a bus, without me even speaking to anyone. In fact, due to a previous search I did, my browser remembered the flowers I looked at before and quickly led me toward that same selection, making the process very quick and easy. Incredible advancements in the way we use the internet and how we purchase things is a fascinating shift in the way our lives work. It’ll be exciting to see where technology leads us and where we’ll be in the next decade compared to how far and quickly we’ve come in the past decade.
Innovation in technology has been at its greatest level since anyone can remember. There is a drive toward discovering new ways of improving lives, making life easier and making the world a better place to be and much of this is through technology. There have been so many technological breakthroughs coupled with creative genius and the drive to push new products out to market, that it’s difficult to keep up with all of the rapid advancement that keeps coming forward. The millennial generation has grown up with technology and embraces it as if it was a separate appendage. How its used and how it can be used as well as the drive and fortitude to put it on an app or create a website to host it or extend a device that will communicate with it in a seamless manner is an engine of innovation that’s coming out of all corners of the globe.
With the recent surge in the Internet of Things, or IOT, many devices are now being extended to support open communication with a range of new technology-driven homes and appliances. By communicating with your refrigerator, you can find out what’s inside, how long things have been there, and what you need for that special something you plan on creating tonight. You can adjust the lights in your home without being home, or turn on the heat or AC before you arrive. You can feed the pets and start the oven or record that special show you’ve been wanting to see. All this can be done from the touch of a button on your mobile device while you’re away from home.
You can record and play back camera footage from cameras within your home or outside your home. You can even simulate answering your door when the doorbell rings. It’s an exciting time to see all the new stuff that’s coming down the pike and it’s also exciting to think about what will be coming next. While we’re surrounded by all this great new technology, you can still feel free to open up a book and curl up and relax by a reading light, but it’s also easier to download any book you want and read it from your device.
Many users of technology have experienced the unfortunate event of losing some beloved pictures or personal files from their digital device by accident.School projects, family photos, or hours of other work could be lost in an instant.Such an incident was devastating, often leaving no way to recover all of those files. Thanks to current technology and IT consulting, those days are nearly gone. Cloud technology now allows users to upload files to a “cloud” where they can be accessed on nearly any devices via the internet.
For those unfamiliar, “cloud” is a term for a space on the internet where files or programs are stored, like Calgary SharePoint. Files can be uploaded to a cloud for easy sharing with others, to help keep your hard drive clearer, and as a back up storage method. There are many clouds to use, and many different ways they can be set up to best fit user’s needs.
One example of a commonly used cloud is Google drive. Google drive can be accessed with a gmail account. Google drive files can be shared with others, making it a great platform for group work. Both android and apple devices can upload to and use Google drive, making it easy to access files from any device a person owns. Another common version of cloud technology is iCloud, which is for apple devices. However, iCloud can be set up for PCs as well. Aside from Google drive and iCloud, there are many clouds, but those are two of the most commonly used.
Clouds are a great way to store and backup files. Clouds allow files to be accessed from multiple devices, and easily shared with other people. Using a cloud frequently can also allow you to keep fewer files on your hard drive, which will keep it cleaner. Because of the technological advancement of the cloud, it is much easier to prevent loss of files from accidents or device malfunctions. Many devices can also be set up to automatically back up new pictures or other files to a location on a cloud. It is recommended to back up files from devices onto a cloud frequently, and make sure you know how to access your cloud.
Anytime you’re using technology, you run the risk of using the product outside of its tested functional levels, and you might run into a problem. Some call it a bug, some call it an unsupported feature, some call it a broken workflow, but in any case it’s an issue you ran into using an online product or services and now it’s time to call the A-Team to help you out with your issue. In this case the A-Team is also known as IT Support Houston.
Almost every product or service that uses the internet should be backed up with some type of support staff that is available for helping customers like you. Each product has its fair share of issues and often requires someone knowledgeable from the company staff to help out the customers with these issues. A trained and qualified support staff is just the right thing that every company needs to fill this bill.
Most often the support comes from within the house, whether it’s from the development side of the house or a combination of staff members wearing multiple hats, but there are some companies who dedicate professional staff specifically to this job. A solid support staff would include qualified technicians who are not only well-versed in the software or application, but also well qualified to work closely with customers. They need to not only show adept skills at providing help with the issues at hand but also with displaying patience and empathy with the customer. There’s nothing more frustrating to a customer when something goes wrong using the application, and more often than not the call to IT Support includes a lot of frustration and anger. The technician has to first diffuse the situation and then move on helping the customer calm down and then solve the problem. It’s always good to have staff that can speak clearly and calmly and keep a good sense of humor throughout each conversation.
It’s important that the customer feel at ease during the process and have confidence that the member of the staff will not only help them with their issue but will also be a person they can easily talk to.
After Al Gore invented the internet (queue the laughs), the world took off in a direction unlike anything that’s happened in our lifetimes. The exchange of information has stepped into a new realm of the universe, where anyone can access almost anything and get it quickly at their fingertips. It can’t be understated that the amount of information that’s available now that’s never been available before has suddenly opened up a lot of new avenues to which a seeker of information can find it.
It seems as though the news cycle has sped up considerably and what once took a day or two before news from around the world actually made it home, it’s now available 24×7. The way news gets reported no longer depends on a few large corporate news outlets, but it has now become possible for real street reporters to get the news out into the public mainstream with a handheld device, posting online feeds and streams that show the real story from the front lines of where the news takes place.
Research has never been more readily available. What once took a week or more to get an obscure published piece of study material is now available quickly online. No longer do students need to fight for reference material at libraries when everything is now available to them on the internet.
With the information also comes the employment. More jobs have been created through startups and other companies that seek an online presence. Content developers and graphic artists push what the web can do to the max, making for lively and very consumable content. Marketing companies and testers as well as product support are always in demand so support the various opportunities that arise from online products and services. Millions of new opportunities have come from online companies and providers and millions of products have made it to the market through the use of web stores and pure online marketing that was once unheard of. No longer do business need to depend on a brick and mortar storefront when they can work out of a basement. The world has changed.
